RACHIS
It is a fantastic time in history for the production of music and art. Anyone can be an artist. Anyone can be a musician. Now, to some, that may not seem credible, but with recording software, microphones, and video editing software in homes across the globe, hidden tallent has been discovered and anyone can pursue their creativity and dreams. That was what my sister and I did a few months ago. I composed an instrumental piece for her kickstarter fundraiser with our childhood baby grand piano named Molly, a quality microphone, and Reaper software on my Toshiba laptop computer. That simple. We covered the piano with blankets to create the “sound” we wanted, and recorded Natalie’s dialog enclosed by those same blankets under the piano. What a great way to create a soundproof room. If you haven’t yet, please take these last few days to check out her kickstarter. She is raising money to help produce her artwork for an exhibit this October at Creative 360 in Midland, MI. The collection and track I composed is called Rachis, and is available as an mp3 for those who make a $20 donation or more. Check out the kickstarter and watch the video to see her stunning photos and hear the piece.
